Out & About in the ‘burbs This Weekend: March 20-22, 2015

It’s the weekend! Time for exploring the ‘burbs and getting the lay of the land as you continue—or start!—your house hunting process. Here’s what to keep in mind as your pounding the real estate pavement this weekend:

  • The NYC luxury market—and with it, cost of living—is on the rise, this time outpacing all global competitors
  • Who’s feeling the squeeze? Renters—making now an optimal time to buy
  • Another reasonto buy now? You’ll get even more for your money when it comes to a mortgage…

What to do while you’re hitting the ‘burbs? St. Patrick’s Day is still in full swing, so if you didn’t have a chance to celebrate on Tuesday—or last weekend—check out these great community activities. And—bonus!—they provide a great opportunity to rub elbows with your (potential) future neighbors…

  • Mamaroneck’sannual parade kicks off Sunday at 1:30pm, complete with bands, dancers and more
  • In Rockville Centre, the parade runs down Sunset Highway from 12:00-3:00pm on Saturday, and benefits a host of great charities
  • Greenwichcelebrates St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday, with a giant parade starting from Town Hall on Field Point Road at 2:00pm
  • One of the oldest in the state, Bayonne’s first St. Patrick’s Day parade was in 1912—this year it runs along Broadway starting at 1:00pm, with plenty of festivities to follow!

Happy Friday!
