Out & About in the ‘burbs This Weekend: January 2-4, 2015

Happy New Year! If anything’s for sure, it’s that the predictions for the year ahead in real estate are great, especially for first-time home buyers:

  • More houses and a cooling off in home prices, paired with slight rate increases
  • The buying and bidding frenzy will fade, and millennialswill step up and overtake Gen X as buyers
  • Optimism continues to rise, especially among first-time buyers

Now that the confetti’s been cleaned up, let’s get to some fun winter projects! While you’re checking out some area towns, pop into these kid-approved arts and crafts activities and see what your life will be like in the ‘burbs…

  • The Katonah Museum of Art is hosting its “School’s Out/Art’s In” program through Friday, but pop in anytime over the weekend for family-friendly exhibitions and hands-on activities
  • Create a fluffy polar bear pal through January 9th, at the Long Island Children’s Museum
  • Give your kids some hands-on experience making books at the Bruce Museum Family Studio Workshop, on Sunday from 1-3pm
  • What kid doesn’t love Legos? The Morris Museum in New Jersey has a new “Brick by Brick” exhibit, featuring innovative Lego works of art, plus an interactive model train display, with plenty for kids to see and do.

Enjoy the first week of 2015
