Welcome to Willow Glen

Willow Glen, with its tree-lined streets and vibrant, walk-able downtown, is one of San Jose’s most desirable neighborhoods. The charming downtown features dozens of cafes and restaurants, locally owned shops, and services such as legal and financial counseling, health and wellness classes, interior and graphic design services, and spas and salons. Willow Glen residents are fiercely proud of their neighborhood’s distinctive identity and beauty. In 2013, a reporter for sanjose.com wrote that Willow Glen “residents are provincial. Ask a person if they live in Willow Glen or San Jose, and they’re unlikely to name-drop the latter. Few communities in the city claim such a sense of independence.” The neighborhood is popular with young families and professionals, thanks to its strong sense of community and central location. Much of Willow Glen was built in the 20s and 30s, and therefore features an eclectic mix of houses built in the Craftsman, Spanish, Tudor, Prairie, Mission and Victorian styles. By most estimates, approximately 60,000 people live in the roughly nine-square-mile area.
