By car: I-95, also known as State Route 128, runs north – south about 1 mile west of West Roxbury’s western border. It connects with State Route 9 north of the city, which travels east directly into downtown Boston. Washington Street also passes through the city and into Boston. The other major artery is the VFW Parkway. Logan International Airport is approximately 28 minutes northeast of West Roxbury, by vehicle.
By rail: The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority offers commuter rail service in West Roxbury via West Roxbury Station (450 Lagrange Street). The station is served by MBTA’s Needham Line with service to Boston’s South Station. The one-way fare is $6.25; a monthly pass is $200.25. Republic Parking operates a 62-space parking lot at the station with rates running $4/day.
