Waltham is a city of about 63,000 residents located along the Charles River about 10 miles west of downtown Boston. It’s bordered by Lexington on the north, Belmont and Cambridge on the east, Auburndale on the south and Weston on the west. One of the oldest cities in the country, Waltham has a rich, historic past, stunning scenic views and dynamic community mostly comprised of lawyers, executives, politicians and other intelligentsia. Route 128, the Massachusetts Turnpike and a metro station make Waltham a very commutable city, but many residents opt to work for one of the area’s major local employers, which include Raytheon, AstraZeneca, Cimpress, Brandeis University and Bentley University. The city’s diverse population is a boon for residents, as it is home to a great many award-winning ethnic restaurants and specialty grocers.
