Saratoga  is located 10 miles west of San Jose and 50 miles south of San Francisco. It is known locally for its suburban small-town feel, wineries, and high-end boutiques. In 2009, Forbes ranked Saratoga as one of America’s top 20 most-educated small towns. In 2010, BusinessWeek named it the most expensive suburb in California; the following year, it named Saratoga’s zip code the 18th richest in America. The 2013 Home Listing Report listed Saratoga as the third most expensive housing market in the United States. Saratoga has a zoning code aimed at preserving a semi-rural appearance, which is partly achieved by foregoing streetlights and sidewalks on most residential streets. Saratoga offers a high quality of life to its residents and a chance to escape the hustle of Silicon Valley.
