Welcome to Santa Rosa
Santa Rosa is a city of residents in and the county seat of Sonoma County, about 55 miles north of San Francisco. The biggest city and urban center of California’s Redwood Empire, Wine Country and the North Bay region, Santa Rosa offers visitors and residents the best of the best in terms of shopping, dining, hiking and recreational opportunities. Plus, its prime location on the US-101 corridor makes it easy for residents to travel south into San Francisco via the Golden Gate Bridge. Despite the urban sprawl creeping out from Santa Rosa’s city center, much of land surrounding the city remains undisturbed and brimming with wildlife. Within the city, Santa Rosa is divided into four quadrants: Northeast, Southeast, Southwest and Northwest. US-101 divided the city into east and west sections, and State Route 12 runs east-west, dividing it into north and south sections. Each quadrant contains at least a dozen unique neighborhoods, many of which have their own culture, downtown area and attractions. It has been featured on Forbes Magazine’s “Best Places for Business and Careers” list several times.
