Welcome to San Rafael

San Rafael  is located approximately 20 miles north of San Francisco, along Highway 101. Its strategic location makes it the economic and cultural center of Marin. It is the county seat, as well as corporate headquarters for an international software company and an international biotech company. The historic, diverse community has an international presence and encompasses some 30 distinctly different neighborhoods. Homes range from sprawling Victorians and Spanish-style homes built in the 30s, to smaller bungalows, luxurious waterfront properties, Eichler-designed houses, as well as condominiums, apartments, and townhomes. A beautiful and vibrant downtown offers lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. San Rafael is surrounded by great natural beauty and world-class recreational opportunities.
