San Bruno is a city on the peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is located immediately south of South San Francisco and north of Millbrae in San Mateo County, about 12 miles south of downtown San Francisco. It’s bordered on the east by the San Francisco International Airport and on the west by Sharp Park, Fairway Park and the Pacific Ocean. Its southern border extends into the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, which climb from San Bruno’s 41 feet above sea level to more than 700 feet above sea level in Portola Highlands. The city is also home to several major employers, including Gap, Wal-Mart’s online retail center and YouTube.
