Milton

Welcome to Milton

Milton (27,000 pop.) is an affluent, historic, residential community that was recently rated #2 by Money Magazine in its “Best Places to Live” in the United States feature. The magazine cited in particular Milton’s tree-lined streets, proximity to Boston, stable home prices, and superb schools. Although Milton is just seven miles south of downtown Boston, it has a rural atmosphere, in large part because almost 25% of its land is permanently protected from development. The town still retains 19th- century country houses and estates, and field- stone walls are not uncommon. Milton is also home to the renowned Milton Academy, an independent preparatory school founded in 1798 that educates almost 1,000 day and boarding students on its 125-acre campus.
