The Village of Lincolnshire (pop. 7,275) is approximately 34 miles north of downtown Chicago. It encompasses 4.58 square miles and is generally bordered on the north and northwest by Vernon Hills; on the south and southwest by Buffalo Grove; and on the east by Bannockburn and Lake Forest. The Des Plaines River meanders through the eastern part of the village, dividing the town in half vertically at the village hall. The village is characterized by higher than average household earnings, highly educated residents, and a diverse population encompassing all ages, occupations and incomes. Lincolnshire is located in Vernon Township, one of the fastest growing townships in the country and one of the most desirable living and business environments in the Chicago metropolitan area.
