Welcome to Colma

Colma is a small, unincorporated town of 2,000 residents in the San Francisco Bay Area towards the northern end of the San Francisco Peninsula, 10 miles southwest of San Francisco Civic Center. Its location at the highest point of the Merced Valley (an alcove between San Bruno Mountain and the northernmost foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountain Range), offers residents beautiful views of the rising hills surrounding the valley. Colma is home to 17 cemeteries, earning it the name “City of the Silent.” In the 1980s, an industrial boom gave way to a diverse shopping, dining, entertainment and commercial sector that now offer residents a wide array of employment options as well as plenty to see and do.
