Blackhawk is an unincorporated master-planned community and census-designated place, six miles east of Danville.It is governed by county rules/regulations and a homeowner’s association.The only major commercial enterprises in Blackhawk are the exclusive Blackhawk Country Club and Blackhawk Plaza. The community comprises six gated neighborhoods plus the country club.All of the neighborhoods are connected by a three-mile long jogging trail.Hidden Oak is the oldest neighborhood, and one of the most desirable. Most of the homes have four or five bedrooms and generous lot sizes. Oakbridge homes typically have 2,000 to 3,000 square feet of living space. Saddleback homes are located on lots averaging five acres or more, and even the smallest homes have over 3,000 square feet of living space. Silver Maple is contiguous with the country club and features townhomes as well as detached homes. Silver Oak is an upscale condo complex within easy walking distance of the Shops at Blackhawk. Blackhawk Country Club (“Main Gates”) is the largest of the six neighborhoods.
